Scrubs in the City transports Torontonians to London, England!

Whether it was the Spice Girls (or lookalikes), The Mockers (a Beatles style band) or the fish and chips, Scrubs in the City transformed Evergreen Brickworks into London, England, for their 15th annual fundraiser for SickKids.  Approximately 900 attended, with a record-breaking $800,000 raised.  This year’s theme was London and the dress code was Royal or Rebel.

The ambiance was full of Union Jacks and red, white and blues.


The cuisine was straight out of the UK including Yorkshire pudding, fish and chips, and of course, curries.IMG_5228

I wore Ann Taylor paired with a Michael Kors bag, Marciano shoes and a Tissot watch.

An exclusive silent auction was available to guests and non-guest alike including luxury one-of-a-kind items such as a Mulberry Kite Tote in Midnight Haircalf, a 14 Karat White Gold and Diamond Ring and an 18 Karat White Gold and Diamond Bangle Bracelet from Mark Lash, or Two night’s accommodation in an Owner’s Suite at the Fairmont Pacific Rim. Total value of auction and draw prizes was over $120,000.

All funds raised contribute to a 3T MRI machine at SickKids. Quieter, faster, bigger, and more powerful, it will make the MRI experience less stressful for kids and family. SickKids is Canada’s leading centre dedicated to improving children’s health and home to Canada’s largest, hospital-based child health research institute, caring for more than 100,000 patients every year.

Next year’s theme is Marrakesh and the 16th Scrubs in the City will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Evergreen Brickworks.
